2025 Distinguished Educator - Elizabeth Finney Broken Ground School

I am excited to celebrate Mrs. Liz Finney as BGS’ Concord School District Distinguished Educator. Her exceptional dedication and impactful contributions to our students and families, especially through her leadership of the BGS food pantry, make her an exemplary candidate.

Liz is an academic leader at BGS, invaluable in implementing our new math curriculum this year. Her open-mindedness and willingness to try new strategies help her fifth-grade team function at a very high level.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Finney goes above and beyond by leading the BGS food pantry. By ensuring students have access to nutritious food, she addresses a fundamental need that allows them to focus on learning. This vital, community-sponsored activity provides essential support to families throughout the school year.

Liz is also actively involved in building and district-wide committees, including the BGS Leadership Team and the District SEL selection committee. She serves as the BGS lead contact with the NH Food Bank and has built strong relationships with local businesses and churches, demonstrating her ability to network and coordinate resources.

Liz's dedication, compassion, and organizational skills have made a significant difference in the lives of our students and families. Her work is a testament to the power of community engagement and the importance of addressing basic needs. I am thrilled to have her as a teacher and colleague at BGS and I strongly believe she is a deserving recipient of the Distinguished Educator Award.
