CHS Update - Today's Incident

Concord families & staff –

Today Concord High School students were dismissed early today due to a threat written on a girl’s bathroom wall, indicating a shooting this afternoon.

The threat was reported to the administration, who immediately notified our school resource officer. I spoke to the Chief of Police and we agreed to early dismissal given we didn’t have clear information on the source of the threat. We will continue to investigate.

Below is a message from Concord High School Principal Tim Herbert.

I’d like to thank the CHS administration and staff for their leadership today, our transportation department who mobilized immediately and the students and families who were serious without panicking.

Superintendent

Dear Concord High School Families and Students,

The safety of the Concord High School community is our number one priority. This afternoon’s event serves as a reminder of how important it is for all members of our community to work together to ensure CHS remains a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

We are asking for your continued support in this effort. If you have any information related to today’s threat—or any potential threats—please contact the CHS administration directly. You can also report concerns anonymously through the Concord School District’s See Something, Say Something Tip Line.

Tomorrow, school will proceed as normal. As a show of support for staff, students and families, there will be an increased police presence.
