SCHOOL CELEBRATION
Students from Christa McAuliffe School discussed their schoolwide read, “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane”
INSTRUCTIONAL COMMITTEE
Director of Student Wellness and Great Schools Partnership reviewed the report of the Project AWARE grant and its core goals
RECOGNITIONS / REPORTS
- Superintendent Report
- New Student Board member, junior Clementine Mayala, shared happenings at Abbot-Downing and Rundlett Middle School
- Student Board member Aryn Bernardo provided an update on happenings at CHS
- Professional Development – November 4 – the district has numerous activities scheduled for teachers
- Capital Area Food Access – the BGS Good Pantry opened in October and food will be delivered a few times a month
- Italy Trip – 26 CHS students will travel to Italy during April vacation
FACILITIES UPDATE
- Middle School Project – the Board voted for Matt Cashman, Director of Facilities, as Owner’s Project Manager - 9-0
- Current projects – work continues on the CHS auditorium as well as two improvements to drop off and pick up at Rundlett
FINANCE
- Business Administrator Jack Dunn has been elected to the School Care Board of Directors
COMMUNICATION & POLICY
- The Board reviewed Policy 415: Title IX Sexual Harassment Reporting and Grievance Process (1st read)
PUBLIC COMMENT
- There were no public comments
PERSONNEL
- Winter Coaches – approved 9-0
- CAA Interim Administrators – Principal Gallo and Principal Nye were moved to Interim status – approved 9-0
- Broken Ground - .5 FTE music teacher – approved 9-0
VOTES
- There were no additional votes
OTHER BUSINESS
- Monthly enrollment report – Dr. Herbert is watching class sizes at ADS for kindergarten, third and fourth grade
- An instructional assistant was hired for kindergarten at Christa McAuliffe
