Mrs. Harrison's class plants trees

On a beautiful spring day, Mrs. Harrison's 5th grade class had the wonderful opportunity to visit White's Farm. The visit was part of the Schoolyard Canopy Enhancement Program, an initiative by the NH Department of Natural and Cultural Resources in partnership with the UNH Cooperative Extension. This program aims to increase the number of trees planted on school properties and to raise student awareness about the importance of trees in our lives and for wildlife.

During their visit, the students enthusiastically planted young trees, learning about the different species and their benefits to the environment. The hands-on experience was both educational and fun, as the children discovered how trees contribute to cleaner air, provide habitats for wildlife, and enhance the beauty of our surroundings.

The program is also supported by the City of Concord Tree Subcommittee, which helps ensure that the trees planted will thrive and benefit the community for years to come. Mrs. Harrison's class returned to school with a deeper appreciation for nature and a sense of pride in their contribution to a greener future.

We are grateful to all the organizations involved for making this enriching experience possible for our students.
