PowerSchool Parent Portal

Dear Parent/Guardians:


We are very pleased to announce a new parent access portal to PowerSchool. This account will give you access to your child’s schedule, teacher e-mail address(es), grades/assignments (Gr 6-12 only) and attendance information. It will also be an important launching point for many new applications and services that we are launching this year, including:

  • The ability to edit your own SchoolMessenger contact preferences (available now);
  • Online athletics registration for high school and middle school sports;
  • Access to your child's school health information.

NOTE: PowerSchool does offer iOS and Android apps; however, links to the above systems currently work only on a computer.

The PowerSchool Parent portal has a new sign-on which allows you to select your own username and password, and to view all of your children using the same login. You should complete this process, even if you have logged into PowerSchool in the past.

IMPORTANT: you will need the one-time Access ID and Access Password for each of your children, which may be obtained from your child's school.


Step 1. Visit https://ps.sau8.org

Step 2. Click the “Create Account” tab.

Step 3. Create your Parent Account. Complete your (not your child’s) first and last name, your email address, and select a username and password that works for you. Under the Link Students to Account section, you will need the one-time Access ID and Access Password for each of your children, which may be obtained from the school office.

NOTE: If you do not receive the Access IDs and Passwords for all of your children in this message, you may start with just one child - PowerSchool will allow you to easily add in your other children later through the Account Preferences menu. Please contact your child's school if you need additional codes.

Step 4. When you have logged into the PowerSchool Parent portal, please locate the SchoolMessenger link at the bottom of the left navigation menu. Clicking here will take you to SchoolMessenger's Contact Manager, where you may edit your contact information for announcements, emergency, and attendance calls.
