Wellness Committee

Greetings from the CSD Wellness Committee!

Here’s a brief update on wellness activities in the district.

CSD Wellness Policy/Procedures:
  • Revised policy adopted by CSD School Board on August 6, 2018
  • Procedures/Goals were developed
  • Policy is posted on district website under student policies, also in the wellness section, under food service
School Based Wellness Committee (SBWC):
  • CSD Wellness Committee is encouraging schools to form school-based wellness committees
  • SBWC would be the liaison between the schools and the district wellness committee
  • Potential committee members would be school nurses, health and P.E. teachers, food service staff and anyone else who is interested in wellness
  • CHS has an active SBWC and has shared information on their success
Center for Health Promotion – Student Wellness:
  • Center for Health Promotion receives grant funding to implement student wellness programs in the CSD
  • 5-2-1-0 Healthy NH activities were introduced to 4th graders, district wide in 2017-18
  • Food Play activity was introduced to elementary schools in 2018

School Care – Staff Wellness:

  • CSD Wellness Committee and School Care/Cigna, CSD health care provider, will work together to implement employee wellness programs and initiatives

  • Ann Petterson – Dietetic Intern, Parent
  • Beth Richards – Safe Routes to Schools, Parent
  • Michelle Smith – Nutrition Counselor & Wellness Educator
