Afterschool Program Volunteers
Concord School District 21C Community Learning Center
Up To 3 hours/day; 5 days/week
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
About our program: We are an afterschool program that operates at four locations. We offer academic support as well as enrichment and recreational programming each afternoon from 2:30pm to 5:30pm (we are not open when school is closed or not in session). Our student population is quite diverse, as a number of students are new to this country.
Ideal candidates: will have a passion for working with children along with experience working with children from diverse backgrounds. We encourage dynamic applicants with fun and different hobbies and experiences to apply! Candidates must be comfortable working with groups of 10-25 children in an activity; must be able to model as well as reinforce program rules and expectations; must know when to redirect children in a positive manner; must be quick thinkers and flexible. Outgoing and energetic individuals do especially well with our student population.
- Mill Brook School: K-2 afterschool program that partners with The Boys and Girls Club to provide students with academic assistance, wellness activities, and enrichment experiences.
- Broken Ground School: The Boys and Girls Club partners with 3-5 grade students and staff to provide homework help and so much more. Students can join a number of clubs, from Newspaper Club and Friday Films, to Make an Impact Club where they learn to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of others.
- Rundlett Middle School: At this program, students in grades 6-8 can come and get homework help, learn to code, play chess, cook, and much more.
- Concord High School: Here, students in grades 9-12 can drop in for assistance with nearly every academic subject. Teachers and tutors help with Chemistry, Algebra, Physics, Biology, and more. Students are welcome to head up to the Computer Lab to work on projects or join in on activities like Art After School and the Tide Pride Club.
This is an excellent opportunity for college students working toward a degree/certification in education, students of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome to apply! We offer a unique experience for the students of the Concord School District.
